Minutes:  Minutes of 10/11/2011 meeting read and amended for clarification

Officers’ Reports

Treasurer:  Christine Moisan.  Treasurer report read and accepted.

Principal:  Trish O’Donnell

  • DPW maintained playground area (new sand and gravel)
  • New Internet based district report card pilot program for grades 3-4 due out Nov 14th.
  • Parent Teacher Conferences were held for grades K-2.  Parent feedback wanted.
  • Nutrikids use feedback: service fee is too expensive.

Committee Reports

Enrichment:

  • November 8th – Promised Land (grade 4)
  • November 17th – Discovery Museum Rocks & Minerals (grade 3)
  • November 18th – Owls (grade 1)

Teacher Mini-Grants

Request from Danae Coon for School Wide Teaching initiative was tabled until next month.

Updates

  • Jeannine’s Fundraiser –The fundraiser brought in approximately $7000.
  • Magazine Drive – Ongoing (November 2 – 16).  Tallying orders on Monday and Wednesdays to coincide with bonus days.  The next bonus day is Wednesday November 9th.
  • Holiday Fair –Saturday December 3rd.  A newsletter will be sent home.  Volunteers are still needed to help and vendor registration is open.  For more information contact Amy Davis.
  • Spirit wear – new spirit wear has arrived.  An order form will be going home.  Inventory on hand is limited quantities.  Next spirit day is tentatively planned for Friday November 18th.
  • Boxtops – October box tops totaled $1032.61.  The PTO is still waiting to receive the check from October 2010.  Thank you to everyone who helped trim and package box top submissions!

New Business

  • Kori Stuart has stepped down as PTO secretary.  Thank you Kori for all your hard work!  Cathy Thorogood was voted in as the new secretary.
  • Scrip gift card fundraiser is starting  November 21st.  We need another volunteer to help coordinate.
  • Worcester Sharks night is Saturday January 21st at 7 p.m.  This is a fun night, not a fundraiser.
  • Coco Key Water Resort is Wednesday, January 25th from 1:00-9:00pm (half-day).
  • Trivia Night – currently researching options for hosting a trivia night fundraiser
  • Restaurant Night – researching options for hosting a restaurant night fundraiser

Open Session

Discussion was held about magazine drive fundraiser and fundraising in general.   A Fundraising Committee was established.  If you are interested in joining please contact the PTO.
